Israel’s renowned Sea of Galilee is actually a lake, known also as Lake Kinneret. The Sea of Galilee, is the largest fresh water reservoir in Israel and as such, during the winter months, it’s an Israeli national pastime to discuss the water level of the Kinneret. The beaches that surround the lake are unique, each with different sceneries.

Shay – Sea of Galilee Sail

Shay Zisserman owns and operates “Sail on the Sea of Galilee” and provides an amazing experience filled with family fun, possibly a highlight of your trip. Shay is a professional Captain and Skipper with years of experience.  Last year, Shay bought his own Pikilos speed boat and takes his visitors on an amazing first-class sail on the Sea of Galilee.

The Pikilos speed boat can accommodate a group of up to 12 people. Shay will take you along the beautiful shores of the Sea of Galilee and show you the amazing views of the Golan Heights. If you want more action, he can inflate a large circular rubber tube which can be towed behind the boat at fast speeds. No experience necessary! Talented and experienced riders try to jump the waves created by the boat’s wake and become airborne. Shay also allows you to drive the boat and he offers a remarkable VIP service, at reasonable rates. We actually tested our NES Mobile pocket WiFi devices and phones on the lake and had reception virtually everywhere on the lake!

The Arbel National Park and Nature Reserve is a popular destination for hikers and has various trails which vary in length and level of difficulty.  The trails include magnificent views of the Galilee and you can stop in a cave-fortress and ruins of an ancient synagogue.
