What happens to your USA number when you switch to an Israeli SIM?
Phone numbers are associated with SIM cards, not the actual phones. So once you arrive in Israel you’ll take out your USA SIM card (or any other local SIM card you may have) and replace it with an Israeli SIM cards. While in Israel, callers to your regular local number will go straight to voicemail. When you return back to the USA, you can switch back to your local SIM card, and the USA numbers will work again.
Why Should You Get An Israeli SIM With a Virtual USA Number?
Many clients wish to stay connected on their USA number, so friends and family can call you on a domestic USA number. You could get an additional virtual USA number for UNLIMITED incoming calls, in addition to your Israeli number.
If you travel to Israel and get an Israel SIM card from Nes Mobile, you automatically get an Israeli phone number. You also have an option to get domestic USA area code number with UNLIMITED incoming calls on that virtual USA number. This virtual USA number will NOT be the same as your current local number. However, your friends and family can call this USA phone number to reach you in Israel. By getting the USA number in Israel, they don’t have to pay Intentional long distance charges when they call you.
What About Texting the USA Number?
- People texting an Israeli number from abroad usually use data based apps like iMessage, WhatsApp & Facetime. They could text the regular Israeli number.
- The virtual USA number will forward calls only. The virtual USA number will NOT work for any incoming text dialed on your local number directly to your Israeli line.
- Any outbound texts sent from your Nes Mobile Israeli SIM, will show the Israeli phone number, not the virtual USA number.

Many clients who wish to still receive calls often use the call-forwarding service from their local phone number to the USA virtual number we assigned you. In order to do so, please contact your local carrier for more info as instructions from time to time.

Please be advised that this service is offered by your local service provider in the USA, so please contact your provider directly for more info. Nes Mobile is NOT responsible for forwarding your calls from your USA number to Nes Mobile’s number.
AT&T call forwarding instructions:
- Dial **21*, followed by the 10-digit number you wish to forward the calls to, then dial #. For example, **21*1235556789# forwards your call to 123.555.6789
- Push the Call, Send, Talk, or Receiver icon
- Your wireless phone displays a confirmation message when Call Forwarding activates
Verizon Mobile call forwarding instructions:
- Dial *72 followed by the 10-digit number you wish to forward the calls to, then dial #. For example, *72.123.555.6789 forwards your call to 123.555.6789
- Push the Call, Send, Talk, or Receiver icon and wait for confirmation
- End the call
T-Mobile call forwarding instructions:
- Dial **21*, followed by the 10-digit number you wish to forward the calls to, then dial #. For example, **21*1235556789# forwards your call to 123.555.6789
